If you join our noordinarysummer programme, no two days will be the same!
The Minter Ellison Rudd Watts summer clerk programme starts with a comprehensive induction programme offering a mix of workshops and seminars, an opportunity for team building as a group and, of course, real work opportunities.
Successful applicants begin the summer clerk programme in November 2011 and, until February 2012 will be fully immersed in a firm that offers challenge, excitement, intellectual rigour and hard work of practicing law at the highest level.
Your first rotation runs from your November start date until the Christmas break. After a well earned holiday (on full pay) you will return to your second rotation where you remain until the end of your clerkship.
The recruitment process
Click here and apply by 24 March 2011 for the opportunity to have a noordinarysummer with us. If we invite you to meet with us at an interview we encourage you to be yourself and enjoy the experience. We do!
noordinary learning
We want you to be the best you can be, and our collegial approach will give you opportunities to apply your academic skills to real work with real deadlines. You will have access to the experience of our partners, consultants, special counsel, senior associates and solicitors, who will help you develop your legal and commercial skills alongside like-minded people.
You will be given a formal performance review at the end of each rotation so that you will know how you’re doing at each stage of your time with us, and what you can work on to perform even better.
Our professional development programme over the summer begins with the development of key business skills, such as business development and presentation skills, which we build on further in the secondary Law Clerk Program. For more information about professional development at Minters, click here.

noordinary experience
As a Minter Ellison Rudd Watts summer clerk, you’ll have the opportunity to experience work in two different teams during the summer - real client experience, not just photocopying! You will have long enough in each team to gain a real depth of experience in both legal skills and professional relationships. Successful summer clerks will have the opportunity to continue your brilliant career as a Law Clerk in a team that best matches your skills and aspirations. As part of our legal team, you’ll be involved in research, drafting opinions, agreements and letters, and attending client meetings. Many of our summer clerks will have short secondments to our clients’ businesses.
